Images of Nokia Windows RT prototype tablet exposed?
We're not besides sure most this story, folks, and then accept it with a grain of salt. For quite a few months now, we've heard reports of Nokia working on a Windows 8 tablet (originally RT, and then reportedly they went with full 8.x), though upwardly until now we take never seen one.
These images, posted in the Windows Phone Key Forums by Rubik_H2CO3, may or may not be legit. The specs are a chip dated: Tegra 3 1.3Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, HDMI-OUT, USB Port, SIM Slot, 16point touchscreen, running Windows RT. The poster notes that they remember this prototype was dropped due to the Tegra 3 chipset, which is used in a handful of Windows machines these days.
The just giveaway in the two photos that this is a Nokia tablet is the logo lightly emblazoned on the back. Such an add-on could in theory exist like shooting fish in a barrel to fake with Photoshop only an initial analysis does not reveal any trickery that has been done to the photo.
We can confirm through various sources that Nokia and partners are actively testing a Windows viii tablet of some sorts. In fact, we've heard some recent murmurs of "…a vi inch phablet (GDR3), and tablet in November. Also a mini tab in the 1st Q 2022" from the Finnish company. Where the above device fits in to that picture, we but don't know.
One early on rumor was Nokia had an RT device gear up to launch earlier in the year, but due to soft sales of RT versus full Windows eight machines, Nokia abandoned that thought. Whether there is any truth to information technology, we're nonetheless in the dark, though hopefully more information will exist forthcoming.
With all of that being said, the device itself doesn't look too remarkable, missing even a rear camera, which seems odd for Nokia.
Due to our unfamiliarity with the poster and the possibility of faked images, nosotros're giving this a "5" on our rumor meter. Nosotros know a Nokia Windows tablet is coming, we just don't know if this is it.
